Yes! You read that right.
Every year thousands of people gather at India’s Hyderabad Exhibition Ground to treat people with breathing problems. And how do they do that?
They make the patient swallow a live fish which are stuffed with paste of some herbs. Sounds crazy!!! The paste is prepared by the Bathini Goud family and they are keeping the ingredients a secret and are claiming at the same time that the recipe is received from Hindu saints.
There is no science logic backing up such an idea but still there were almost 100,000 at the exhibition ground earlier this month.
Following video is a little peek into the event and it looks utterly unpleasant.
The herbs are inserted in the mouth of a live sardine, or murrel fish, and the wriggling 5cm fish are slipped into the patient’s throat, often leaving them retching
