National War Memorial

The eternal flame burns brightly at the center of this 15-meter high pillar, built to commemorate the courageous men who lost their lives in war.
The Memorial has many impressive features, such as engraved photographs and panels with names of Martyrs. The list also includes the names of 21 Param Vir Chakra winners who sacrificed their lives for our country’s freedom. Names of Martyrs are engraved on the bricks that make up this wall. A gallery has been set up to display the bravery and courage of soldiers who fought for their fellow citizens in wars gone by long ago. The Rashtriya Samar Smarak, i.e., National War Memorial, is open to the general public every day and admission here also remains free of cost!

National Rail Museum

Humayun’s Tomb
Humayun’s Tomb is the first truly magnificent example of the Mughal style inspired by ancient architecture. Located near Nizamuddin, this tomb complex was built for Abdul Hamid II in 1556 AD and housed some excellent marble work and other structures. The construction of this Tomb was completed in 1570 on the orders of Humayun’s widow, Begum Hamida Bano.
