The Samsung Galaxy S4 is by far one of the best mobile handsets currently available in the market, if not the very best. Having been introduced to the world at large in March, the Galaxy S4 has received rave reviews and with the number of different options that the handset has to offer, it is certainly a must buy for people who are looking for a device that not only provides them with the very best in terms of communication, but also takes functionality and feasibility to a completely new level. However, did you know that there are a number of different things that you can do with your Samsung Galaxy S4? Here are a few tips and tricks to try out!

Prevent TouchWiz from lagging

TouchWiz is the personalized Android Skin that Samsung uses, and you are likely going to find it to be slightly slow once you get fluent with your Samsung Galaxy S4. If you do find a slight bit of lag in your phone, you can remove it completely! For people who do not use S Voice too often (S Voice is Samsung’s answer to Siri), you can just disable it from the settings. By disabling S Voice, you’ll see that the overall experience will automatically become smoother.

Customizing Lock Screen

The lock screen on Samsung Galaxy S4 is customizable which allows you to edit the widgets or change basic settings. To do that go to the “Settings > My device > Lock screen and then select the Options.” You can also choose to see a clock or personal message on the lock screen.

Increase battery performance

If you wish to enhance the battery performance of your device, the easiest option to do so is to just go into the quick settings, and turn on Power Saving Mode. The Power Saving Mode automatically detects features that are not in use, and optimizes battery life to make it last longer.

Glove Mode

Go to “Settings > My device > Display > High touch sensitivity.” This feature will allow you to use your phone with your gloves on, which is very helpful in cold weathers.

Enhance photo quality

Your Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 13 MP camera, so you’d be led to believe that it is going to take shots of 13 MP quality as well. However, that’s a no-no. In order to do that, you must open your settings, and select 13 MP as the picture quality size.

Enable Air Gestures

Open your quick settings and turn on Air Gestures. Then, whenever you receive a call, all you have to do is to swipe your fingers over the screen, without even touching and you’ll be able to answer it!

Video multi-tasking is in

In Galaxy S4 you can overlay a video playback screen on top of any part of the phone. By default multi window feature is ON. If you have turned multi window off, enable Multi window by opening the Quick Panel by swiping two fingers from the top of the screen to the bottom, and touch Multi window. Just press a button in the nav bar of the media player and a little window will pop-up on the homes screen, playing the vid and you can surf the web or check your emails while watching the video.

Blocking Mode

Are you getting calls from unexpected callers and want to get rid of their calls without them knowing, you can do that by using the blocking mode feature. It restricts notifications and calls from all but the approved (we mean blocked) contacts – and this can be done for all the times, or just during the few chosen hours.

Take a screenshot

Probably the oldest trick in the book, if you wish to take a screen, just press the power and home buttons simultaneously in order to do so!
